Hi. My name is Kay, and I am $7450 in credit card debt.

About 1 year & 8 months ago I was $10,120 in credit card debt. I've been dealing with my credit cards since 2003. I've let my debt keep me from doing things I should've done by now. I've used it as an excuse to keep me from furthering my education, seeing the world, even socializing with friends. It also didn't help that I am an impulsive buyer, so when I buy something I buy several copies of an item. I still do it now, but I'm trying to stop.

Anyway, I haven't had much luck in controlling my debt until January of this year. I've decided that enough is enough and gave myself a deadline to be 100% debt free over the next 2 years. But then I wrote down everything that I owed and saw that if I was really tough I could possibly pay off my credit card debt in 9 months, which is the time period of a full term pregnancy.

The concept of the title might be confusing. I named this blog "Pregnant with Debt" not only of the deadline I gave myself to complete this task but I want my "birth" to be the feeling of freedom that will be achieved once I finish paying my $7450 balance and this ridiculous weight is finally off of my shoulders.
